RØDE Streamer X

HDMI capture and a microphone input in one box.

Elgato Wave XLR Pro

Two XLR voices and two headphone mixes in a compact interface.

Before you choose

RØDE Streamer X

The catch: Set capture output separately from the display passthrough mode. Configure the audio returns before going live so HDMI audio and computer loopback do not reach OBS twice.

You need:

  • An HDMI cable for each camera or computer
  • A microphone: an XLR microphone and an XLR cable for each input you use, or a headset with a 3.5 mm TRRS plug, or a RØDE USB microphone it supports, or a RØDE Series IV wireless microphone
  • Headphones with a 1/4-inch plug (or a 3.5 mm adapter), or a headset in the 3.5 mm TRRS socket

Check first:

  • A USB port that fits the cable

Elgato Wave XLR Pro

The catch: Plug your streaming computer into the main USB socket. Keep the second USB socket for the other device, and set up what each one hears separately.

You need:

  • An XLR microphone and an XLR cable for each input you use
  • Wave Link 3.0+

Check first:

  • A USB port that fits the cable
