Elgato Stream Deck Studio

A 1U rack control surface with 32 LCD keys and two dials for a broadcast desk.

Elgato Stream Deck XL

Lots of scenes and sources on screen at once.

Before you choose

Elgato Stream Deck Studio

The catch: It is built for a rack and for Bitfocus Buttons or Companion; the Stream Deck app works only in USB mode. Power comes from PoE+ or a USB-C PD 3.0 supply (9 V, 3 A), and the supply is not in the box.

You need:

  • Bitfocus Buttons or Bitfocus Companion; the Stream Deck app in USB mode

Check first:

  • A USB cable
  • A computer running Windows 11 or newer; macOS 13 or newer

Elgato Stream Deck XL

The catch: There are no physical dials. Reserve space beside the keyboard for 32 visible keys, or choose a dial model for continuous mixing.

You need:

  • A USB 3 port (5 Gbps)
  • Stream Deck desktop application

Check first:

  • A USB-C port on your computer
  • A computer running Windows 11+; macOS 13+

A computer running Windows 11+; macOS 13+
  • You need: A USB 3 port (5 Gbps). A USB 2 port is too slow for it. USB-C is a plug shape, not a speed, so check the port itself.

  • You need: Stream Deck desktop application. The maker lists this software for the device to work as described.
  • Check first: A computer running Windows 11+; macOS 13+. The maker lists these systems for the desktop app.
